Bro our first encountered happened instantly when i started working at the clique. We h it off immediately. Your personality and sense of humor helped acclimate me to the environment. I remember on a Sunday afternoon and the soul explosion talent show exploded. I ran upstairs and there's Kenny with a champagne bucket  On his right hand knocking guys out.
When we worked together at Dave & Buster's we enjoyed working hard and playing even harder.  We kicked ass and loved going to work. D&B is where our life long  friendship originated

I love Kenny and I will never think or speak of him in the past tense. Kenny will and always be with me.

Love you bro, can't wait until the next Leo Bday party.

For Everyone who reads this. I'm orchestrating a toast for Big Poppa, if u love him your invited. Date and time

Kenny I clearly remember of walking through the neighborhood with you Lisa and others on our way to school to A.O. Sexton.  We talked and laughed about that after reconnecting in our adult life in recent years. We exchanged and I spoke on my three princesses and you spoke of your little princess.  Rather it be the house picnic, your birthday dinner at the restaurant last year, or other events, it was a great joy to be around you my brother.  You still had the same infectous smile that I remembered from childhood. You will be so very missed but will live on in our hearts and in your legacy of your beautiful daughter. Spirits never die, love you. May the family have the PEACE of GOD that surpasses all understanding.

Joanie RIP Kenny August 24, 2012
Kenny,

What can i say, it was such a sad day when God took you home. If has been a pleasure to work with you all of these years. The hotel will never be the same without your laughter, your smile, your dedication to your job. You animated hoorays while reviewing the good numbers! haha I can still see you putting your arms in the air and cheering when the numbers were good... I am glad we had a few laughs on that Tuesday, who would ever have known that it was the last time.
R.I.P. Kenny, i will truly miss you and it was an honor to work with you "Big Poppa"

Kenneth Simpson aka Big Poppa was a friend who will be missed.  I, unlike most, really connected with Kenny after our years at WY, though I still have a picture in my mind of him wearing a brown plaid shirt and carring a bookbag with two handles, more of a satchel then a backpack and rushing to class [after all 4 minutes wasn't much time to get from the gym to the academic building or whichever]; just see him moving.  And that's who he was, he helped me move out of the self imposed exile from my WY roots and welcomed me back home.  After attending Denise Young's 40'th birthday and then learning of she and Kenny's blessing, Kenzie, I started to receive texts and celebratory messages from Kenny, whether it be Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, he was always sharing the Love.  Kenny was the ultimate host and always worked to ensure that everybody was welcomed and enjoying themselves, either from his legendary cocktails or his tasty grill, Kenny was all about enjoying life and sharing the joy.  He was a proud Poppa who loved his little angel, Kenzie and a great friend who was a giving, warm, engaging and entertaining Man who will be deeply missed.  I thank you Kenneth Simpson, for welcoming me into your life and sharing your many blessings.

Rest in Peace my friend, you will always be remembered.

All the best!!
Step on me :) Mr. Blue N White August 21, 2012
We met over 20 yrs. ago and it was one of the happiest times of my life.  I remember hanging several nights at the Elm Street Bar.  Your Smile lit up a room.  Your hugs were the best just like you. I want to thank your family for sharing you with me. I remember that you and Lisa's name for me was Step on me (Stephanie)

My friend Mr. Blue n White...  Mr. G.O.M.A.B. :) you are truly going to be missed. I will remember the good times, the happy times, and the best times.  Boyz II Men said it the best.....  It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

So until we meet again save a mixed drink for me and a bear hug.

Love ya Kenneth Big Poppa Simpson

i've put this off long enough, mostly because i'm a big cry baby. Cry

always caring, always a protector, always loving and generous, my heart aches from missing you because you were such a beautiful genuine spirit. i'm flooded w/ so many memories of us, alot that I selfishly keep for myself because they make ME feel so good.

My Spirits brother. I remember our wonderful rhythm behind the bar at the countless parties we did at the MacBone mansion, the harbor and other places.  We'd be moving so fast and I'd turn around and bounce off of you, you'd catch me, steady me on my feet, turn me around and we'd keep it moving...we'd be in our zone, it was never about the money we made but the time we shared together, the tips were just gravy (good gravy but gravy Wink. ).The countless times you carried me home after "one of those nights" and safely tucked me in..and you just should have cause it was usually at your hands that i was that way anyway..(ha!)..all those crazy ass movies you had me watching..and when i used to beat you in the video game and you then you would merciless stomp me in all the next rounds..HA!!..all the talks of love and life and children...and..LOVE.

That's what you were... LOVE.. even in your absence, your prescence is so strong.

I believe you have touched enough people to have made a difference.

I love you and miss you madly.

Smooches! Kiss

Mario Basurto Heaven gained a great one. August 24, 2012
Kenny was a great one. He always had a smile, a kind word and a hug. He was one of those rare people that you ALWAYS felt better after seeing. He was a proud father, and a great friend. I didn't see him every day, but he will be missed every day.
When I got the text, I wanted it to be wrong, wanted it to be a mistake. As my daughter reminded me, he's in Heaven now. GOD bless him, his family and the many many who loved him.
Danielle Emmons I'm happy to have known you August 24, 2012
We met during what turned out to be one of the most memorable times of my life.  Our commonality - being Dolphins and our love for Mrs. Robinson and music.  You made me laugh and left a solid mark on my memory.  Shame on you for leaving so soon. We will honor you tomorrow in song.  Send us the strength to do you proud.  Dolphin love for eternity!

Love ya,
Dani
Tony Becton New Daddy August 21, 2012
Big Kenny's presence was definitely felt at the picnic. The last time we hung out we shared some shots of whiskey.  We talked about being a Dad of a little girl.  I shared my few words of wisdom and we laughed and hugged.  Yes, I am a recipient of one of those thousand hugs. I remember after the baby shower he got a blowout on the Dan Ryan.  I was right behind him so I called my motor club and we sat on the Ryan together, a little tipsy, waiting for a tow.  Big Poppa, what was in your drinks?  Your secret recipes made everyone happier. The fun times at the chateau can never be mimicked. We love you and we miss you.

Family and Friends of Kenneth BIG POPPA Simpson

I know that this is a difficult time for all.
To the family, I pray that you all understand that this is all in GOD's plan and although you loved Kenny, GOD loved him more!
To Denise, I pray that GOD gives you the strength to carry on and raise your daughter with the LOVE that Kenny showed her, I know that you will tell her what a GREAT guy her dad was and how he was loved by all that knew him.
Although I wasn't close with Kenny after graduation, everytime I saw him he gave me a BIG BEAR hug with an infectious smile.  It really touched my heart to hear of the loss.
To my WY family, I pray for you all.  Always hold onto those special memories and keep BIG POPPA alive in your hearts ~ ALWAYS!

Much Love,
Toya Woullard
